Bayern Munich is leading the way at the top of the German League;Bundesliga with 65 points gathered from their 27 opening league matches of the season and are only 9 points away from securing their 5th successive Bundesliga title.
Taking into consideration the fact that Bayern Munich are in such a comfortable position in the Bundesliga, the German club is now going to start to focus more on the UEFA Champions League as they are scheduled to face off with Real Madrid on April 12 for their 1st leg of the quarter-final stages.
Manuel Neuer has recently picked foot injury and he was required to undergo a surgery which forced the German goal-keeper to stay out of the pitch during Bayern Munich’s league matches against Augsburg and Hoffenheim.
The 31 year old player is expected to be back into action for the upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Real Madrid, which is great news for the supporters of the German club as Carlo Ancelotti wants to use all of the tools athis disposal in order to face off with his former team.
Bayern Munich confirmed the injury and surgery of Manuel Neuer as they released a statement which read: “Manuel Neuer underwent a successful minor operation by Prof Dr Markus Walther on Wednesday evening after sustaining an injury to his left foot in training.The 31-year-old Germany keeper will be sidelined for FC Bayern’s Bundesliga matches against Augsburg on Saturday and Hoffenheim next Tuesday.”
There are recent rumors going on however, that have put into question the current condition of Manuel Neuer as he was believed to be seen on crutches after his successful surgery and that the German goal-keeper might not be able to make it in despite everything that Bayern Munich has been saying.
The 1st leg of the quarter-finals match between Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid of the UEFA Champions League is scheduled to take place on April 12 and everyone will find out whether or not Manuel Neuer will be indeed physically ready.
