Six teams are yet to taste defeat after the first four weeks of the 2022 season as far as MLS football is concerned. The top three teams from each of the Eastern and Western Conferences are the ones yet to taste defeat in MLS football this season.
Carlos Vela is leading the charge for Eastern Conference leaders LAFC (Los Angeles FC) this season as it appears that his injury woes are now behind him. His four goals in the opening weeks of the season have propelled LAFC to the summit. Vela has been responsible for almost half of his team’s goals in the MLS this season as LAFC have scored nine goals and conceded just twice this season for a goal difference of +7 which has enabled the Los Angeles-based club to claim top spot ahead ofRSL and Minnesota.
For the Western Conference, the top three teams are still unbeaten just like what was obtainable with the Eastern conference. Philadelphia Union, Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire are the top three teams in the Western Conference respectively. Philadelphia Union are the early pacesetters after the first four weeks of the season with ten points from four games afterthree wins and one draw from their four games in the 2022 MLS season till date. Union have a two-point advantage over both Real Salt Lake (RSL) and Chicago Fire at the top of the table in the Western Conference. RSL and Chicago Fire are both on eight points each after two wins and two draws from four games.
