Manuel Neuer has quickly established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the world, which has resulted in numerous rumours linking him with a move away from Bayern Munich. He has already won a lot of trophies with the German outfit. Since he is just 27 years old, it has been rumoured that Neuer wants a new challenge. He has been linked with the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid, who are linked with a potential signing of a goalkeeper. City are thought to be unhappy with the performances of their number-one Joe Hart, while Madrid are looking to replace Iker Casillas.
Neuer, though, has dismissed those transfer rumours by saying that he has no intention of quitting Bayern Munich just yet. He says that life is extremely good under the management of Guardiola that he does not want to consider a move. He came to the club from Schalke as one of the most expensive goalkeepers in the world in 2011. During the three years at the club, he has already won numerous trophies including the Champions league.
In fact, that have been rumours that Neuer could become the next captain of the team, but he has rejected such an offer by saying that Philipp Lahm is more suited to retaining the captaincy for a long time. “It would be great to play for this club for a long time. There is no reason to move clubs as it would be weird not to want to play for the best club in the world. I am a Bayern Munich player and I will stay on a player of Bayern Munich. If the team or the manager want me I would not reject the armband to be captain of Bayern Munich at any point in time,” said Neuer.
